John Maggie

Spaysky Fine Art Gallery LLC presents John Maggie: I’d rather be someone who doesn’t paint.  Images of whimsical anxiety, carefree beauty, and confident positivity infested with hints of dread slowly encroaching. Gestures of nature’s tranquility and all its details crawling with parasites, actively decaying bodies, and forms postured to look alluring and ideal. Paints pushed like colorful excrement through the tube and smeared to reflect the beauty and replenishment of spring. I’d rather be someone who doesn’t paint is a sampling of a few select paintings from John Maggie’s prolific painting practice. On view in the gallery May 29th-June 27th
