Spaysky Fine Art Gallery llc presents Honoring the Heat Wave    I Have to Save my Family  a performative work by Matteus Huvaere. To be experienced in and around the gallery Saturday, July 8th. Open at 5pm the performance will begin at 6pm.

Honoring the heatwave I have to save my family. I have to do something that matters. I don't want to die. I don't want to know what it feels like. I don't want to be a loser anymore i want to be a regular person again i cant keep living with my back against the wall i want to feel how im supposed to feel i don't want to taste dirt anymore i don't want to scrape my knuckles and crush my ears i want to feel proud. Boobs on camera too many boobs on screens it should be illegal to give teenagers brain altering pills. I didn't have ADHD until my first vaccine. Maybe I can sweat the mercury out.




Matteus Huvaere (b. 2001, pre 9/11, Boston, Mass) lives and works in Detroit, Michigan. He was Team Captain of the Harrison High School Wrestling Team, Farmington Hills, Michigan, 2018 – 2019. A 4-time gold medalist and 1-time silver medalist in the Midwest Jiu Jitsu tournament circuit, 2021 –2022. Matteus was awarded ‘Fight of the Night’ at a 2023 Smoker Kickboxing Match in an undisclosed Detroit location. Art exhibitions include Back From the Dead, Trumbullplex, 2021; You Can Touch It, U245 gallery, 2021; and When we last spoke, Herman Kiefer Center, 2022
